C-List Actor Zachary Levi Begs Musk, Trump to Spare 'Good' MAGA Federal Workers
Oh noes! MAGA voters are getting fired, and Zach's not happy about it.
It’s getting ugly in the federal government, and Zachary Levi—yeah, the hack actor from the Shazam films—just went full grovel mode, begging Elon Musk and Donald Trump to slow down their purge of federal employees. But not just any employees. The good ones. You know, the ones who voted the "right" way.
The Purge Hits MAGA-Land
With Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) slashing and burning through federal agencies in the name of “reform,” a lot of longtime government workers are finding themselves suddenly unemployed. And while the official mission is to cut waste and fraud, it turns out the biggest victims so far are career civil servants caught in Musk’s ideological crosshairs.
Levi, making an appearance on Fox News (where else?) with Jesse Watters, pleaded for a mercy. “There are a lot of people that are very afraid right now because there are truly good working people that work for the government that are getting lost in the cracks,” Levi said.
Translation: MAGA voters are getting fired, and he’s not happy about it.
He didn’t stop there. “Please—Elon and all of your team—don’t let everybody fall through the cracks as we are doing what is necessary, which is to get in there and to like cut a cancer out, man,” Levi continued, comparing the firings to cancer surgery. “You lose some good healthy tissue along in that. They don’t want to do that, but it’s a part of extracting that darkness out of there. And right now that’s what’s happening.”
Backlash and Walk-Backs
Cue the backlash. Levi’s implication that only Trump voters deserve protection did not go unnoticed. Twitter (sorry, X) was quick to roast him for basically saying, “Save the MAGA bureaucrats, the rest can fend for themselves.” Sensing the heat, Levi later tried to clarify his stance, claiming he was actually advocating for all Americans. “I wasn’t pleading exclusively for Trump voters to keep their jobs. I was making a case for all Americans being lost in the shuffle,” he posted.
Nice save? Not really.
The DOGE Reckoning
Musk’s DOGE initiative was supposed to be about efficiency, but so far, it looks more like an ideological crusade. While promising to root out fraud, Musk’s team has mostly been axing legal programs he doesn’t like and targeting agencies that serve social welfare functions. And despite initial pledges to balance the budget, he’s walked back those promises, leaving destruction in his wake with little to show for it.
Meanwhile, Levi’s desperate appeal underscores a deeper truth: Even Trump’s allies aren’t safe in the era of Muskian governance. The purges are happening fast, and loyalty to the cause won’t necessarily buy you protection. If Levi thought MAGA voters would be spared the axe, he just got a harsh wake-up call. But hey, at least he still has his job, right? Maybe not.
