Elon Musk Cheats at Video Games
...and the only people surprised by this are people that don't play video games
Oh, to be Elon Musk—bouncing between launching rockets, tanking Twitter’s valuation, and apparently, getting wrecked in Diablo IV so hard he had to call in reinforcements. Yes, the world’s most memable billionaire has been accused of paying for account boosting services in Path of Exile 2 and Diablo IV, and honestly? It’s the least surprising Musk scandal yet.
Naturally, when confronted, Musk did what he does best: freak out on Twitter. He went after popular gaming YouTubers Asmongold, who had the audacity to call him out, and in a move so petty it deserves its own subreddit, briefly revoked his verification badge. Because that’s the kind of hard-hitting revenge you can expect from a guy who can only win an argument if he owns the platform it’s taking place on.
But wait—plot twist! Enter Grimes, who swoops in to defend her ex, insisting she personally witnessed his gaming greatness. Because if there’s one thing the internet believes, it’s an ex-partner vouching for their billionaire baby daddy’s Diablo kill streak.
Eventually, Musk, in his infinite wisdom, sort of admitted to the whole thing, brushing it off with a classic "Everyone in Asia does it" excuse. Which, okay, bold strategy—blame an entire continent for your need to cut corners in a video game.
So, what have we learned here? Nothing new, really. Musk still can’t take an L gracefully, and the ultra-rich will always find a way to skip the grind—whether it’s in the stock market, corporate takeovers, the White House, or apparently, the dungeon crawler video game genre.
Why does this matter? It speaks to Musk’s insatiable need for attention and infallible glory. Remember, this is the man in charge of cutting government spending like a mattress salesman running a liquidation sale. We’ve already seen the consequences—just look at what happened with the FAA cuts. Musk does whatever he needs to do to keep all eyes on him until someone tries to hold him accountable. Then, he shrugs, throws some blame around, and acts like a petulant child.
And at this point, he’s arguably more powerful in our government than the Vice President.
